Taking a data center located in Zhangjiakou as an example, this paper presents in detail the overall air conditioning system design of the data center. The data room adopts the method of closing hot aisle. The cold source of the data room uses an indirect evaporative cooling unit. The power distribution auxiliary room is equipped with room-level precision air conditioning, all of which adopt the diffuse air supply form. The energy consumption values of the indirect evaporative cooling unit under different operating conditions throughout the year are analysed. At the same time, combined with CFD simulation calculation, the overall energy consumption of the unit under different heat exchange core materials and different return air temperature conditions is compared. The results show that after replacing the heat exchange core of the indirect evaporative cooling unit with a metal material, the heat exchange efficiency of the equipment is improved and the overall power is reduced. At the same time, within the allowable range, increasing the return air temperature by 1 ℃ can reduce the overall energy consumption of the data room and thereby reduce PUE (power usage effectiveness).
